Your organization needs to collect a lot of information. Data about the people you serve, information about their experiences, the kinds of help and support your organization provided, and what the next steps are are just a few examples.
StriveDB supports all of this information out of the box and we also allow you to tweak and customize the data you choose collect so you can make sure the data is in the system and you can report on it.
Reporting
Data-driven insights
StriveDB can use the data in the system to generate a variety of customizable reports. We enable users to drill down into the numbers to see who was counted where. Plus, we have common reports for granters (VOCA / VAWA) and Victim Demographics built right in.
If you make sure the data goes in, we will make sure it comes out.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most
What is StriveDB?
StriveDB is a cloud-based case management database built specifically for victim service organizations. It serves sexual assault centers, domestic violence shelters, and family justice centers, with modules for legal advocacy, clinical counseling, volunteer management, anonymous survivor feedback surveys, and AI-powered paper form scanning. One-click VOCA reporting is included on every plan. Pricing is transparent and published, starting at $199 per month.
Who is StriveDB built for?
StriveDB is designed for victim service organizations (VSOs): sexual assault centers, domestic violence shelters, family justice centers, and the coalitions that support them. It is most effective for centers with approximately $1 million to $5 million in annual revenue, though smaller programs can use the Basic plan and statewide coalitions can use the Multi-Site plan to manage multiple member organizations from a single system.
How much does StriveDB cost?
StriveDB offers four plans, all billed annually, with pricing published publicly. Basic: $199 per month ($2,388 per year) for up to 2 staff. Team: $520 per month ($6,240 per year) for up to 20 staff and 100 volunteers. Premium: $1,250 per month ($15,000 per year) for up to 100 staff and unlimited volunteers. Multi-Site / Coalition: Custom pricing for networks with 100+ staff. Optional modules (Counseling, Legal Advocacy, Automated Data Entry) are $100 per month each on Team plans and above. The Premium plan includes one module of your choice at no additional cost. Training and consulting hours are included on Team plans and above.
What funder reports does StriveDB support?
One-click VOCA reporting is included on every StriveDB plan, including the $199 Basic plan, with no per-report fees. Team and Premium plans also include custom funder reports built by the StriveDB team: 3 custom reports on Team, 10 on Premium. These custom reports can be built for essentially any grant your organization reports to, including federal sources (OVW STOP, OVW SASP, FVPSA), state crime victim compensation and coalition-administered funding, county and city government grants, United Way and community foundation grants, private philanthropic funders, and individual donor reporting requirements. If your funder has specific data fields, output formats, or submission templates, the StriveDB team builds the report to match. Reports update dynamically, so you can re-run them for any date range without reconfiguring anything.
What specialized modules does StriveDB offer?
StriveDB offers three optional modules, each available on Team plans and above at $100 per month. Legal Advocacy Module: protective order tracking, police report and investigation logging, medical forensic examination records, and SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) tools. Counseling Module: secure session notes, validated clinical assessments (PHQ-9, PCL-5), supervisor approval workflows, and subpoena compliance packet generation. Automated Data Entry Module: AI-powered scanning of paper intake forms, safety plans, and historical case files with direct import into StriveDB. Includes 1,000 scans per month; additional scans are $0.25 each. The Premium plan includes one module of your choice at no additional cost.
How is StriveDB different from EmpowerDB, Bonterra Apricot, and Vela?
All four platforms serve victim service organizations, but they differ significantly in design and pricing. EmpowerDB is a 15-year-old VSO-specific platform known for its encryption model and lower base subscription cost. Funder reports are purchased separately as recurring annual fees, and setup, data conversion, and ongoing consulting are billed hourly. Bonterra Apricot is the largest generic nonprofit case management platform and carries enterprise certifications including SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001. Pricing is quote-only, support is limited to 5 contacts per month on the standard tier, and VSO-specific workflows typically require custom form builds or third-party consultants. Vela is a DV and SV platform built in partnership with Missouri's MOCADSV coalition, with strong VOCA, STOP-VAWA, and Monthly Service Report capabilities and explicit HMIS Comparable support. StriveDB differentiates through the combination of purpose-built modules (Legal Advocacy with SART tools, Counseling with PHQ-9 and PCL-5 and subpoena compliance, AI-powered paper form scanning), transparent published pricing with no per-report fees, one-click VOCA reporting included on every plan, and bundled training and consulting hours on Team plans and above.
Is StriveDB HIPAA compliant and how is survivor data protected?
StriveDB is HIPAA compliant and has completed an independent security audit and full penetration test by Accorian, with no medium or higher severity vulnerabilities found. Multi-factor authentication is required by default on every plan. Granular role-based permissions allow organizations to separate volunteer, clinical, and administrative access so each staff member only sees the information relevant to their work. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and audit trails are maintained on client records. StriveDB also includes survivor-first design decisions rooted in an understanding of intimate partner violence. Rather than send text messages to clients (which can appear on a shared or monitored phone), StriveDB uses QR-code-based forms that survivors scan in the office to complete on their own device, with no push notifications, no account logins, and no persistent digital trail.
How does StriveDB use AI, and how is survivor data protected?
StriveDB currently uses AI to speed up intake by automatically scanning and extracting data from paper forms through the Automated Data Entry Module. Additional AI capabilities are in active development. All AI processing runs on Amazon Bedrock under strict data handling protections: data is deleted immediately after processing, no survivor data is ever used to train AI models, no data is shared across StriveDB tenants, AI workflows are stress-tested specifically for survivor confidentiality, and all AI features are opt-in. AI is used to reduce administrative burden on staff, not to replace survivor-centered judgment. If your organization prefers not to use AI features, they can be disabled entirely.
How do I migrate my data from another system to StriveDB?
For most centers on Team plans and above, data migration is included at no additional cost. A consultation determines the scope. More complex situations (large historical datasets, multiple legacy systems, years of paper records) may involve a one-time migration fee, typically in the $2,000 to $10,000 range, but this is the exception rather than the rule. Organizations that meet StriveDB at a conference receive up to 40 hours of migration work free on Team, Premium, and Multi-Site plans. The Automated Data Entry Module also accelerates migration by scanning paper records (intake forms, crisis call logs, historical case files) directly into the system using AI-powered optical character recognition.
Does StriveDB work alongside HMIS for DV shelters and transitional housing programs?
Yes. Victim service providers receiving CoC or ESG funding are prohibited by VAWA, VOCA, and FVPSA from entering survivor personally identifying information into HMIS. The standard pattern is to operate an HMIS Comparable Database for HUD reporting (APR, CAPER, LSA) and a full case management system like StriveDB as the system of record for advocacy, legal, counseling, and VOCA/VAWA/FVPSA grant reporting. StriveDB is the case management layer in that pair. A detailed walkthrough of the two-system pattern, including which data elements belong where, is in our HMIS or a Victim Services Database guide.
Who controls survivor data, and how is data retention and deletion handled?
Your organization is the controller of all survivor data entered into StriveDB. StriveDB operates as a processor under a data processing agreement that sets out retention, access, deletion, and breach-notification terms. Customer organizations can export all of their data at any time and can request deletion of specific records or of the full dataset on offboarding. Deletion requests, subpoena handling, and any legal holds are coordinated through your organization's administrator so that chain-of-custody and VAWA confidentiality protections are preserved. Specific retention periods, destruction timelines, and certificate-of-destruction options are documented in your DPA.
How long does it take to get StriveDB running?
Every StriveDB plan includes setup help from our team. Basic plan customers receive onboarding support to get up and running with the core workflows. Team, Premium, and Multi-Site plans are configured end-to-end by the StriveDB team: staff build your custom forms, service codes, permissions, role groups, and workflows for you rather than handing you a blank platform. Most centers switching from another system or moving off paper are operational within a few weeks. Timing depends on your organization's size, the modules selected, and the volume of data being migrated.
Can I try StriveDB before committing?
Yes. Anyone who schedules a consultation with StriveDB receives free access to a demo environment to explore the platform hands-on. You can walk through intake flows, review how case records are structured, see how one-click VOCA reporting works, and test the optional modules you're considering. A team member is available to answer questions specific to your organization's workflows and funders. StriveDB does not offer a public self-service trial because the platform is most useful once it reflects your actual service codes, forms, and role structure. A guided demo shows you both the out-of-the-box experience and how your configured version would work.
